With so many brilliant designers around it can be quite hard to find one that suits your taste and reflects your design style. We were inspired by the incredible new Netflix documentary series on designers, Abstract: The Art of Design and created our very own shortlisted our top five favourite furniture designers who are truly inspirational to Space Shack and who, in our opinion, have redefined the design world furniture design with their unique style and approach. Favourite Product: The Souffle Chair
Kelly Wearstler, an American interior designer started her solo career in 1990's designing
houses for the rich and famous Hollywood. We simply love her modern yet glamorous take on interiors and The Souffle Chair is one of her most iconic pieces - simple with delicate lines, in grey-green leather, this chair looks like the palm of your hand inviting you to snuggle up inside.
Favourite Product: The Flash Table
We love metals and so does Tom Dixon. This incredibly talented self-taught British interior
designer is currently Creative Director of his own brand which specialises in lighting, furniture and
home accessories. The Flash Table from his collection is a dramatic object with its dark bronze table top with antiqued brass base, the perfect Glam Rock inspired item for your living room.
Favourite Product: The Lamper Sofa
Jonathan Adler is another American interior designer who started his career working initially with ceramics and ultimately expanding into home furnishings. Adler does not shy away from luscious fabrics, metals and colours. We adore the elegance and light tones of his tuxedo Lamper Sofa which is elegant and formal, yet surprisingly comfy.
Favourite Product: The Nero Marquino Table
Eero Saarinen was a Finnish-American architect and designer who became popular for his
Neo-Futuristic style. This table is an elegant, sculptural piece which has a coated aluminium base and a uniquely veined Italian Nero Marquina marble top. A truly iconic piece of Mid-Century furniture design.
Favourite Product: The Drop Dining Chair
This Danish furniture design company founded in 1872 by a Danish carpenter, Fritz Hansen has gone on to collaborate with many names from the world of furniture design including the iconic Arne Jacobsen. This particular elegant, curvy chair blends perfectly into a wide variety of settings and is the perfect example of how beautiful furniture design can be, sometimes influencing the entire decor of a room.
