It’s two weeks to Christmas and if you’re like me, you haven’t even thought out buying presents yet. I know some of you out there are ultra organised and have bought, wrapped and hidden your presents months ago, but for those stuck for a last minute gift to give someone this Christmas, here’s our must-have list of things any loved one with a passion for interiors and designer items would simply go crazy for!
Aarke Sparkling Water Maker
Homemade carbonated water is a big thing at the moment and having your own carbonator at home is definitely on many designer home’s wish list right now. One model that is catching everyone’s eye is the stylish stainless-steel Aarke Sparking Water Maker. No batteries or electricity required and it looks hundred times better than a Soda Stream. Aarke means ‘everyday’ in Southern Sami, a language spoken by only 500 people in the north of Sweden, and the household brand was founded by two industrial designers, Jonas Groth and Carl Ljungh. So if you want to be environmentally friendly and want to stop buying fizzy water bottles why not invest in one of these beauties as they use non-toxic, PET-plastic reusable water bottles. If it’s good enough for Gwyneth Paltrow (she sells it on her website Goop) then it’s good enough for us!
Luna Beehive Cactus Cushions
I found these on Etsy when I was doing some styling research. These are genuine stocking fillers and fill my heart with joy every time I see them - they’re so cute! These individually handmade and sewn felt creations are lovingly made by designer, Christen Glenn. They come as individual ornaments or as a garland. Ideal to brighten up any room or Christmas tree. Fun for any age!
Fitbit Charge 3
If you’re like me, and want to get in shape in 2019 then Fitbit have just launched their latest tracker, the Charge 3. This latest design is even more advanced and integrates all the previous features includes new additions like contactless payments and smartphone notifications. With an impressive 7 day charge and sharper touch screen, this gift is perfect for any exercise beginner who loves tech or any fitness fanatics who want an upgrade.
Honest Skincare Candles
I mentioned Honest on our social media the other week, this retail store is based in the heart of Birmingham though sell through various outlets, including the National Theatre Shop where I discovered them. I am mad about their scented candles and soap, in particular, Black Cardamom and Japanese Yazu. The deep tones and rich aromas fill my bedroom and have an immediate calming effect on me after a long day. For Christmas they have released a three candle gift set which is definitely going on my Christmas wish list.
Moebe Store Framed Floating Leaves
When I first saw these I was bowled over how simple yet beautiful the idea was! We’re all familiar with pressed flowers which can be quite twee and old lady but this series of botanic photography is produced through a special printing technique onto transparent film and elevates the concept to another level. ‘Floating Leaves’ is the result of a collaboration between three Copenhagen based design companies, Moebe, Paper Collective, and Norm Architects. Perfect for those who aren’t into home gardening yet want some greenery added to their home.
Terrazzo Cutting Board
Terrazzo made a huge impact this year in the world of interior design, and for those who can’t afford to tear out their entire kitchen or dining area and replace it with this gorgeous eye-catching material, this is the next best thing. Society6 has a line of Terrazzo kitchen items including coasters, mugs and trays and the cutting board featured above - perfect for the budding chef in your family.
Hope these ideas help but if you have any further suggestions, we’d love to hear from you.
